Barnert Medical Arts Complex

adaptive reuse | reopened 2008

Overview

CHA acquired and completed a comprehensive gut-renovation of the former Barnert Hospital, which until 2008, operated as a non-profit general acute care hospital serving the medical needs of residents of Passaic County. Working closely with community and municipal representatives, CHA sought to determine the community’s healthcare requirements, targeted medical tenants, and formulated a plan for significant building infrastructure upgrades. Today, the Barnert Medical Arts Complex, as the facility is now known, is currently 96.4% occupied with a diverse mix of national, regional, and local physicians and healthcare service providers.
