BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Developers recently broke ground on a 372,000 square foot, mixed-use project in Bloomfield: The Royal at Bloomfield Station.
According to CHA Partners, “The Royal” will have 210 residential rental apartments, 14 two-story brownstone units for purchase, about 7,000 square-feet of restaurant/retail space, and a municipally-owned parking garage with space for 304 cars.
The project is a “key component” of the Bloomfield Center Master Redevelopment Plan, a multi-phase plan to transform Bloomfield’s downtown core into a booming town center, the firm said.
When complete, the complex will have a grand residential lobby entrance, various lounge areas and a robust amenity package including a state-of-the-art fitness center, a rooftop entertainment area, an automated packaging system, several multi-purpose event rooms, a business center and a pet spa.
The Royal at Bloomfield Station is expected to open for occupancy in mid-2023, developers said.
According to a statement from the firm:
“CHA assembled the project site through the acquisition of seven contiguous parcels and negotiated a series of public-private partnership agreements with the Township of Bloomfield. The Royal project is Phase III of CHA’s successful three-phase redevelopment efforts in Bloomfield — Phase I was its development and construction of Bloomfield Station, Bloomfield’s first redevelopment project in over 30 years; Phase II was its development and construction of Six Points at Bloomfield Station, which just reached full occupancy.”
Developers said the building is within walking distance of several local restaurants, including Aki Asian House, Anthony’s Cheesecake & Restaurant, Bucco’s Restaurant, Six Points Pub, Bloomfield Steak & Seafood House, Blue Steel Pizza Company. It’s also located near Jack’s Super Foodtown supermarket.
