The Royal at Bloomfield Station Breaks Ground

By: Joe Coletta | TapInto Bloomfield

Bloomfield, N.J. – CHA Partners, a full-service real estate development firm specializing in public-private partnerships, announced today that it broke ground on The Royal at Bloomfield Station, a new, 372,000 square foot ground-up, mixed-use redevelopment project. The Royal is a key component of the Bloomfield Center Master Redevelopment Plan, a multi-phase plan to transform Bloomfield’s downtown core into a booming town center. This new mixed-use building will consist of 210 residential rental apartments, 14 two-story brownstone units for purchase, approximately 7,000 square-feet of prime restaurant/retail space, and an approximate 304-car municipally-owned parking garage.

City of Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia joined CHA Partners’ Managing Partner William J. Colgan and several township officials at the groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the start of construction of the new residential development.

CHA assembled the project site through the acquisition of seven (7) contiguous parcels and negotiated a series of public-private partnership agreements with the Township of Bloomfield. The Royal project is Phase III of CHA’s successful three-phase redevelopment efforts in Bloomfield — Phase I was its development and construction of Bloomfield Station, Bloomfield’s first redevelopment project in over 30 years; Phase II was its development and construction of Six Points at Bloomfield Station, which just reached full occupancy.

“We pride ourselves on becoming true partners to municipalities, and our redevelopment efforts in Bloomfield represent a prime example of our ability to work collaboratively with Township officials to deliver exciting projects that will serve the region for many years to come,” said Bill Colgan, CHA’s Managing Partner. “As we continue to execute on our vision for this project, we are thrilled to play a significant role in Bloomfield’s evolution as a thriving live/work/play destination,” Colgan added.

The Royal at Bloomfield Station will feature a grand residential lobby entrance, various lounge areas and a robust amenity package including a state-of-the-art fitness center, a rooftop entertainment area, an automated packaging system, several multi-purpose event rooms, a business center and a pet spa.

In addition to its expansive array of amenities, The Royal is located in the heart of Bloomfield’s bustling downtown, which includes a wide array of restaurants, retail stores, and recreational options. Taking full advantage of Bloomfield’s emergence as a foodie destination, The Royal is within easy walking distance of local culinary options, including Aki Asian House, Anthony’s Cheesecake & Restaurant, Bucco’s Restaurant, Six Points Pub, Bloomfield Steak & Seafood House, Blue Steel Pizza Company, and more. In addition, Jack’s Super Foodtown supermarket is conveniently located near the project.

Just steps away from the Bloomfield Train Station, residents and visitors can easily commute to New York City in approximately 30 minutes. A covered parking garage is also available for residents and visitors alike.

The Royal at Bloomfield Station is expected to open for occupancy in mid-2023.
