PLAINFIELD, NJ — Plainfield’s new CVS retail location at 1204 Park Avenue will open on Sunday, June 6, District Leader Thomas Cimino said at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday. Mayor Adrian Mapp noted that having CVS return to Plainfield indicates that there is something new and vibrant going on in town, and the company recognizes the need to establish its footprint here.
The mayor said the location is fitting at the busy intersection of Randolph Road and Park Avenue, and will complement The Randolph, the new apartment complex with two-thirds of its units already occupied, and a medical mall that will be built across the street.
“We’re excited to bring this brand-new CVS Pharmacy back to Plainfield,” Cimino said. “I hope that you’ll be pleased with the variety of merchandise, and also pharmacy services and healthcare options that we’re going to offer here at this store. Our Pharmacy Manager Rochelle, and our Store Manager Jack, are both well-rounded community individuals, and along with our excellent team, ready to serve the community here in Plainfield.”
Cimino finished his remarks by noting, “I want to say thank you to the citizens of Plainfield for allowing us the opportunity to come back, and CVS looks forward to helping patients and citizens of Plainfield on their path to better health.”
Council Vice President Barry Goode thanked Mr. Cimino, and told those assembled, “Plainfield’s moving forward. Either get with us, or leave us alone, because it’s happening.”
Before cutting the ribbon, Director Valerie Jackson said, “Plainfield is hot,” and called it “the place to be” when it comes to economic development.
